[NoVa-Corvairs] Saturday's Meeting

Vern:
The latest I heard was the precipitation is supposed to hold off, at least for lower Montgomery County and suburban Virginia, until later afternoon, and then start as light rain/snow, turning to all rain Saturday night. But different sites may be forecasting something different.
I am here next week also, but there is no guarantee given the season that weather will be better next week, so my druthers would be to just go ahead tomorrow. But if others feel differently, let me know. Otherwise, I will assume we are on for tomorrow.
Thanks
Fred

Any chance of pushing the work back a week? Weather channel calling for an ice event around lunchtime or early afternoon. Morning looks ok but after that not so much.

Hi Fred. Thanks for this reminder. It slipped my mind to send out so yours was perfect timing. See you Saturday.

Just a reminder the meeting is at my house, 12606 Split Creek Court, North Potomac MD, this Saturday. The current projects are installing a new emergency brake cable (which just snapped) and diagnosing the windshield wiper washer’s problem, the typical 60 year old complaint of weak flow. Of course, since there are a couple of days until the meeting, something else will probably fail before then. :) If anyone needs to reach me, my cell is 301 512-4701. Thanks

For sale is a 1963 Corvair Spyder Convertible.
Location: Abingdon, Virginia (southwest Virginia close to Bristol,
Tennessee)
Price: Cheap
Details: My grandfather is getting up in years (late 80's) and no longer
has the ability/desire to restore this car. He has owned the car since the
late 70's and it has been stored in a metal barn since then. The car is
not officially a Spyder, but included "all the parts" to make it a Spyder.
If my memory serves me correctly, that included a correct motor and spare
turbo, wire hub caps, dash, and glovebox door. Might also have some door
panels. Exterior is red with white top and the interior is black. I
believe the floor is rusted, but the rest of the car is surprisingly
solid. The car does not sag and the doors open and shut solidly. The
engine in the car spins, but does not run.
I am unable to take the car - I live in Southern California with no room
for yet-another Corvair.
I currently do not have pictures of the car, but if anyone is interested, I
will have someone take some.
Price is negotiable.
Also for sale is a '58 Edsel Ranger, similar condition.
If interested, please contact me off-line via emaiil.
thanks
