The four typical clip sizes found on a Corvair are 1, 2, 4 and 7.<br>
<br>
Size one is 1 is 3/32" , the hole or rod size.<br>
<br>
Size 2 is 5/32" (11/64" listed size with Lawson clips)<br>
<br>
Size 4 is 3/16"<br>
<br>
Size 7 is 1/4"<br>
<br>
R and L refer to the right and left style. The left is used on choke
linkages (1L) and accelerator pump linkages (2L). <br>
<br>
Size one was originally on the choke linkage.<br>
<br>
Size two is on the accelerator pump linkage.<br>
<br>
Size four is on the throttle linkage.<br>
<br>
Size 7 is on the thermostat doors.<br>
<br>
Size one is discontinued in the left version. I did find ONE source
for 1R clips, but they do not work on our choke linkages.<br>

<div>Hi Frank: Good information! Do you know the part number
for the larger clips on the carbs? Or is the 2L the larger
clip?</div>

The original choke clip is a 1L. This is a discontinued part
from the clip manufacturers. I have tried all the sources I
could Google. A 2L is the best you can do. Typically found in
the "Help" (by Dorman) section of the auto parts store in a
package of several different sizes. Or, ask anyone who
rebuilds carbs, as that is the clip used on the accelerator
pump linkage on a Rochester H, HV, so every kit I buy has a
new one in it.<br>

400° sounds right on this hot day. I wouldn't worry yet.<br>
<br>
Brake lights and turn signals use same filaments in the rear.
Also, both go through the turn signal switch. Start by
shorting the terminals on the brake light switch, this should
light both rear bright bulbs if the turn signal switch is in
the middle position.<br>
<br>
Congratulations on getting the car done!<br>
