Thanks again to all of those who showed up on Saturday morning. Here's where things stand:

1) Idle. Seems that the machined linkage I purchased isn't exactly plug-and-play, as there was still a little interference I hadn't noticed. After we rectified that, it was then
determined that one of the primaries was still pulling vacuum at idle. Some fine-tuning with a Uni-Sync smoothed things out. Idle now is at 1300-1400ish warmed up, but we'll see how it goes for the next few weeks before making any further adjustments. Bryan adjusted the throttle
rod sliders for the secondaries and they seem to work well when accelerating. In all, my Corsa feels great when it's out on the road and the idle seems more manageable.

2) After the gang left, I installed the new heater fan and replacement heater hose. Not difficult, but thoroughly
unpleasant since crap kept falling into my eyes (eventually, I popped out my contacts and switched to glasses). Anyway, heat and defrost is impressive even without the lower shrouds installed, although to be fair the ambient temperature was 80 degrees.

3) Today I commenced work on
installing the stock muffler hangers, which is a bit of a reverse jigsaw puzzle when all of the shrouds are in place and the engine is in the car. I was only able to complete the driver's side since I was sidetracked by a snapped oil cooler bolt, which was easily extracted once I removed the
little adapter to which the oil cooler mounts. The positioning of the driver's side muffler seems okay, although I'm still not convinced that it's factory correct. Time permitting, I will work on the passenger side this week.

4) LD was kind enough to pass along an inop Corsa
tachometer core, so I'll look into having that rebuilt over the next few weeks.

This is pretty neat if you're looking into an aftermarket radio -- this company takes your existing radio and replaces the innards with state of the art
