Andrew and I are almost ready to put the motor and trans back in but I would like to replace the trans seals behind the u joints. They wouldn't be a standard pinion seal by chance?<br>

Trey - a sender, strainer, o-ring, and lock ring should be all you need.  Those parts can be replaced without dropping the tank, but you can't really clean the tank in the car.  Tank removal also allows for easy replacement of the 53-year-old brake line over the tank.  If you want to pull the tank, I'd also get the filler hoses and a body gasket.<br>

However, pulling the tank and doing the related work is more involved - this is just what we did to our wagon last year at Frank's house, it basically took a whole day to complete.<br>
<br>
Be sure to have an empty gas can or two, something small enough to fit under the car with a funnel.<br>
