Hey Fred,

I do not have the tool handy. But have changed out a few early axels. It is okay to use some of your Kroil. No heat!

While a nice gear type puller that has jaws that are big enough to pull on the flat spots is a great even pulling tool, there are several other ways. If not too stuck a steering wheel/gear puller can work. Using two of the threaded holes at an
angle. I have made and there has been made and sold thru the Corvair world a puller made from plate steelvat least 1/4 inch thick. This would have 5 holes. One in the center with a threaded hole. And 4 smaller holes that match the 4 yoke holes. Bolt
it on, turn the bolt in and off it comes. I have also done this method if I had a way to drill the 5 holes and a suitable piece of plate, but no tap. You can use a bolt and nut and washer. Still bolt it down, but have the nut towards the yoke. One
wrench one the hex end of the nut and a box end (slipep on as bolt is inserted) to turn the nut. Slow but effective.

And what you may have tried already is alternat taps on the flat spot with a block and hammer . or with a friend ,two hammers, and hitting at the same time.

But in our group. Someone should have one of the ready made pullers.

So exited you are moving along at a good pace.

I have the rear suspension off, and I will need to replace at least one of the rear bearings (probably both). Does anyone in the club have a yoke puller I could borrow? Thanks

Hi folks,

13 December 2014, 1 to 5 p.m.
NVCC Holiday Party
5101 Sequoia Farms Drive
Centreville, VA 20120

Our holiday party at the Centerville community center, same place as the last several years. Bring a dish to share and a gift ($10 - $20) for the exchange. I have mine! Bring the family and friends!

There is a microwave if you need to heat something up. Crock pots, etc. are fine too.

Don't forget officer elections are in December, time to join the group so someday you too can be an ex-something!

We REALLY need a newsletter editor. The only real requirement is getting out something each month!
