Brian: Considering our resources, I believe the Sully and Rockville major
classic car shows are the two best publicity events/activities we can
offer. However, to implement the benefit, we need a good showing at both
of these along with owners to talk to prospective owners. As you indicate, other
"social" media is available, however it takes a professional effort to keep them
alive and interesting.

Hi Stan,

Some great thoughts there, social media is just
today's version of radio and print - remember when people on the bus had their
noses buried in a paper or an earphone jacked into the transistor
radio?

I will mention we've gotten some public turnout, and I think
getting a larger event is possible, but just be aware that this event is
really geared more toward the "all out" Corvair enthusiast, rather than being
a multi marque meet up (I'm thinking Katie's or some of the online club
meets). We could consider doing more of that sort of thing to expose the
cars to the public, it would fit that model better, and of course it's less up
front work so a more frequent event is workable.

One point on social
media for everyone - it's not a matter of cost, it's a matter of using
it. I think a club Instagram account would be great, but we (many of us)
should plan to post to it monthly or weekly to make it really work. I
post to our FB group now, adding that should be easy (pretty sure there are
tools to do both at once). Same thing with Twitter, stuff needs to go
out to make it useful.

I view these things as really good extensions of
the club, there's a lot we can do with it.

--Bryan

> On Dec

discouraged by hearing people sit around and talking about selling a maximum

happy to do shirts at near cost... but because I would never settle for
hosting an event where we would have people come from all over, yet only sell
50 t-shirts. I think we should all open our minds a bit to what the
future holds for Corvairs. I believe they are one of the most
beautifully designed cars of the 60's. Definitely, as far as American
made, and for a GM car.. (although I always loved Corvettes and Impalas,
Corvairs have a European feeling body line that was very unique).
> I would love to help make the 2016 Vair Fair an event that will help
bring more positive attention to our cars. I think we need to create
social media accounts like Instagram and Twitter, in addition to the facebook
page, and make it a point to get tons of new followers. I'm happy to
volunteer to run an Instagram account. I think we can grow lots of
support that way.
>
