Yesterday was a really bad day for the Corvair community.
Closer to home Herb died. I've known Herb for years. I met him for the
first time at either a Great Western Fanbelt Toss in Palm Springs or a
national convention. Herb was a 2 times winner of the Cole award at the
national convention. Herb was also a past president of CORSA. He also
holds the distention of being the only person to be featured on the cover
of a Communique with out a car anywhere in the picture.
Ed Corson also died last evening. I've known Ed as long as I've known Herb
and met him at one the same venues. Ed was a retired Lt Col and fighter
pilot. He ran a small hobby Corvair business in Sothern California. If you
have a spin on oil filter adapter, he probably made it. He made them for
both the Underground and Clark's. Ed was about to complete his first year
as a director of CORSA. Ed has been very involved with putting on fanbelt
tosses and conventions.
Both of the gentleman will be sorely missed by the Corvair community and
CORSA.
Dennis
