Did you ask for oil for a Corvair? It's interesting they steered you a away from automobile oils towards the truck and racing oils. I'm sure it is because of the zink content.

After using Mobil 1 15W-50 for 33 years in my Corvair and VW engines, I asked Mobil for an update on engine oils that would serve us well in our Corvair Engines.
The Tech Recommendation msg. is below. I also have a chart of all their engine lubricants that I can attach and send by email if you individually ask. This list does not allow attachments.
I had picked the first one listed years ago and still use it in all my air cooled engines (snapper mower engine only lasted 25 years and then I re-engined it.
Just switching the Pinzgauer (which has a Daimler Benz air cooled engine) over to all Mobil 1 products, engine lube and gearboxes.
The 15W-50 pours at -49 degrees F, but I have never had to try starting engines when using it below -29, No Problems, though! Engine cranked like it was summer temps.
