[PPCC] meeting start time

Hello fellow PPCC members: The only item of real importantance today would have been a discussion of the starting time of the meeting. I am going to present the two choices as I see them and field comments about them. Feel free to post either myself or the list, nothing said here should be offensive to anyone.

First off most of those who replied to my email didn't really care whether the meeting began at 0930hrs or 1000hrs. On the other hand, we should make the meeting time friendly to everyone that we can. I can understand anyone who runs late in the morning, especially a weekend morning.

In light of these (actually MY) views I offer the following two possibilities:

PLAN A: Begin at 1000hrs and be very watchful of our time going towards 1100hrs. (BTW we asked the lad who tends to us how long it takes to clean up the room for the next party and he said about 20min. That really means we need to be on our way about 1040hrs. That gives us 40 min to eat and conduct the meeting. Sometimes with committee reports from TRI-STATE etc we could easily run past that short time.

PLAN B: Since many of us show up early anyway, just start eating when we get there sometime in the 0930-1000hr range. Someone who is running late can slip on in and it has already happened, personally I don't think anything is lost by having someone pop in late. We can get the meeting going in the 1000-1015hr range probably and again if someone is still eating I don't feel that is anything to be concerned about. If someone goes out for seconds/thirds I don't think it disrupts the meeting at all, no more so than someone leaving for the rest room etc. This way we have a few more minutes for discussion, if it is something important it is easily re-hashed for a late comer anyway. It isn't like we are deciding things that will change the world.

Now there is room for PLAN C and beyond if someone has other ideas. We can figure it out in the November meeting after getting some opinions through the month of October.

I would also like to say "THANKS" to all of you for supporting PPCC through the years. I don't blame anyone for staying at home today, all of us view driving conditions differently. I would rather have you stay home and be safe instead of seeing bent cars and bodies.

Sincere regards, Steve
