What have you got for road service like AAA?  Tow companies charge two fees, one for loading the car and another for milage.  The loading is usually a set figure, obviously milage will vary.  You might find someone to help just pull it that short distance with a strap too.

  Over the weekend, I bought a 1963 Corvair.  It's in my driveway, but needs to be trailered 1 1/2 miles to my mechanic so that it can be safely driven to a VIN inspection at the State Patrol before I start work on it.

  Can anyone recommend a service that will trailer my car this short distance without charging me an arm and a leg?
