[PPCC] PPCC June Meeting

Greetings,
I wanted to remind everyone our June meeting is moved up a week to 14 June to avoid the Father's Day rush. Also RMC is formalizing plans for their August Picnic. This year the Picnic will be a catered event at the Wings Over the Rockies Museum.
Location: Wings over the Rockies
7711 E. Academy Blvd
Denver, CO 80230
Date August 23, 2015
The cost will be $10 per person since RMC has generously offered to cover any cost over $10 for both RMC and PPCC members. We will need to know how many from PPCC will attend and need to collect payment before the end of June if possible. Please check your calendars and we'll discuss this at our meeting.

Subject: RMC Picnic - Summary 5/18/2015
Hola El Presidente! (Hi Randy),
Larry Schubert, from the RMC, has been coordinating for the August Picnic that the RMC always puts on, and he's getting to a point now where they need to collect money to put in for the meal deposit (he didn't say exactly when he needed the money by, but guessing soon - by end of June). At the last RMC meeting, they all voted to make the cost a flat $10 per person, with the RMC picking up the difference (I believe it's about $7 a person). They moved so quick on to the next subject, I didn't get a chance to see if that applied to the PPCC folks, so after checking with Larry and John Dawson (RMC Prez) (see below email string), it does, and it will be a flat $10.00 for everyone, regardless of club affiliation.
They asked about a headcount back in February, and I told them: Preliminary headcount for the picnic from the PPCC will be 11, which includes dual RMC members Chris Kimberly and Steve Goodman (also David & Mary Ellen Feasel - if they too have also joined the RMC). That was a guess, based on what folks had told me about that time, so next steps would need to be securing a solid accurate headcount and collecting $10 per person so we can turn that in to Larry.
My guestimate, as of today would be?
Halpin - 3 (maybe 4 or 5 - will confirm and pay)
Karl - 2
Fox - 2
Feasel - 2
Russert - 3
Goodman - 1 (may have already paid RMC since dual member)
Kimberly - 1 (may have already paid RMC since dual member)
Schick?
Andersons?
Please add this to the agenda for June's meeting, and we can send out a couple email blasts ahead of the meeting asking folks to bring the correct amount of money ($10 per person) to pay up for their reservation.
Thoughts?
Ed

$10 it is.
PPCC was a great help with the 2011 Convention, the rewards from which we should rightly share.
Best regards,
John Dawson

John, I suggest both clubs pay the same amount ($10.00). What are your thoughts?

I will hold off on the price until John Dawson gets back to me. He is on vacation until next week. I will let him make the decision.

Hi Larry. Yes please send it over to randy Karl at karlrj at comcast.net so he can coordinate the effort. One clarification would be on the price; I know the rmc is picking up the difference between the $10 paid and actual cost for rmc members so randy will need to know if that also applies to ppcc members (pay flat $10) or if he's collecting a different higher amount, or he can decide to put the vote to the ppcc to cover the same spread for their members as the rmc is doing.

John, please review to see if we missed anything.
Ed, would you rather I send this to your president. If so send me his email. Someone at the PPCC needs to start collecting money.

Ed, as you know the RMC has contracted with Wings over the Rockies for our Aug Picnic. In April the committee will be selecting a catering company.
Assuming the Pikes Peak would like to join us please provide me with a head count so we can be assured of enough food.
Location: Wings over the Rockies
7711 E. Academy Blvd
Denver, CO 80230
Date August 23, 2015
Summary:
1. Private Room-Frontier: Cost is $500 and has been paid for by the RMC. The Frontier Room has an outside patio. Seats 65 people. Room is reserved from 11:00 am to 2:00pm or 3:00pm.
2. Admission is $9 (seniors) to $11 which is included in the room charge, i.e., free admission.
3. Lunch will catered and will probably range $12 to $25 per person depending on what is ordered.
4. There is a Beer Garden next door.
Regards, Larry Schubert
