Montrose Tri-State June 3rd- 5th

Well, the Tri-State is sneaking up quickly on
us, and there are still many folks who have not sent in their preregistrations
and T-Shirt orders. We have a deadline for the preregistration of May 15th.
It is VERY important for us to know
who will be attending the banquet so the correct amount of food can be ordered.
If you are not preregistered by May 15th, you will be excluding
yourself from the banquet. We also need to know how many spaces are needed for
the show n shine. As mentioned in my articles to your club newsletters, this
show will be in conjunction with the Black Canyon Classic Car Club. Over 200
cars are expected to be at the show. When you preregister, we then know to hold
your place at the show n shine.

Remember that you need to do the following before arriving in Montrose:

1. Make arrangement for your accommodations. Our host hotel is The Holiday Inn Express, located at 1391 S.
Townsend Ave. The discounted rate of $99
is good until May 2nd. After May 2nd, regular room
rates will apply. Contact them to
make a room reservation at 970-240-1800, and mention you are with the ‘Corvair Tri-State’ for the
discounted rate.

2. Fill
in and complete a preregistration form. Please go to the Pikes Peak Corvair Club website, click
on the Tri-State button, fill out the preregistration form, and send it to the names listed. Let us know if you plan to attend the
banquet. It is a cook out with chicken, brats, burgers, hotdogs for kids, potato
salad, beans, side fixin’s, chips, watermelon, and cake. (Kids under age 6 are
free but we still need a count on them as well.) There is also a cash bar. If
you would like a garden burger, let me know. Deadline to preregister for the banquet is May 15th.

3. The preregistration will also give us
a count of folks participating in the Show
N Shine. We need to know how many spaces to hold for our Corvairs.

4.
T-Shirt order forms are also at the
club website. All T-Shirts need to be preordered. Deadline is May 15th to get your order in.

Attached are the two writeable pdf forms
which we have posted up on the Tri-State page:

We have a fun weekend planned with lots of
activities and are looking forward to a great weekend and seeing you in
Montrose.

guided car tours. One will be on Saturday afternoon, June 4th. He
will lead a group in visiting the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.
It will cost the fee to enter the national park. The group will leave the
Holiday Inn Express parking lot at 1:00 p.m., and caravan to the park….about a
20 minute drive. The tour will travel along the South Rim of the canyon making
stops at scenic vistas. William will share his expertise and knowledge of the
area and point out many interesting geological formations. This tour will be
approximately 2-2 ½ hours long. This is

the tour will be leaving the parking lot, (host motel,) in Montrose at 9.00 AM. We will be going west on hwy.

gas, snacks, and whatever for quite a few miles. The group will travel on to
the Gateway Automobile Museum. William has gotten
discounted admission tickets of $8.00 each (normally $15). He has also arranged
for a special lunch price BUT needs an approximate headcount to get this deal.

After the tour, the drive will continue through beautiful scenic areas, to
Hanging Flume, and over the Dallas Divide.
It gets very warm in the desert. Make sure you bring water.
