Ed,
I think this thread got off track!
Thinking Outside the Box allows one to ponder possibilities and saving the cutaway car driveline as a display and as a piece of club history was a possibility for consideration.
Indeed, your story was an excellent one in the newsletter!
A Communique story would be great...
There are only a few of us who recall significant history, effort, and team work involved and I considered it a salute to members past who were involved in the club.
Regards, Garrie Fox

Not sure what you're getting at, Garrie? Your comments seem kind of tongue-in-cheek :)
No, there were no minutes discussing repatriating the destroyed car to Colorado during the meeting, because I only found out about it being destroyed after the November meeting was over.
After I found out, I appropriately shared that information within the newsletter for everyone in the Club to see, in what I considered to be a very nice story, providing background on the old car for the many new members who might not have know of it's connection to this club.
Are you suggesting that the Club should reach out to acquire the remains of the vehicle? And then do what with it? Nobody wanted to store the complete car when we gave it away years ago, so not sure why the concern.
If you, or anyone else in the Club has a sentimental attachment to the car, then, as I had noted earlier, by all means, feel free to reach out directly to John Seaman and see if he still has it and wants to give it away. As of today, the PPCC, as an organization, has no intention of exercising a request to obtain the car.
Now, maybe in 4 weeks, you're new President and board might feel differently, but I'd recommend that the same advice that was so eloquently communicated in Disney's animated movie, "Frozen"; let it go, let it go, let it gooooo :)
* No need to reply all and include the larger PPCC List distro. If there are additional concerns about the old car, please address them to the Board, since that was the group who made the decision to transfer the car in the first place.
Thanks.
Ed Halpin

Guess I did not see minutes showing a waiving of the rights to the car after notice of the destruction. Maybe I just missed them?
This is and was worthy of them writing the story of the demise for the Communique.. It is truly an end of an era for PPCC.

Anyone interested in personally resurrecting the car, or portions of it, can check directly with John Seaman out in Phoenix. The car may still be there, or it may have gone to the crusher by now, not sure, didn't see the need to follow-up since it wasn't coming back under the group's control.
