Hello All,
The window for comment on the 1st reading of the bylaws updates closes out tomorrow (see initial email below), and as of right now, I have not received any additional comment to the existing document (so the folks doing the updates must have done a fantastic job, right?).
If there actually are no additional changes to be made to what was sent out on March 27th, then we can forego the 2nd reading email process and just move for a discussion, motion, and vote on the updates during the meeting, currently scheduled for April 23rd.
If you do have input, please hit Reply on this email (not Reply All) and pass it on to me by end of day tomorrow and we'll move on from there.
Thanks,
Ed

Subject: Updated PPCC Bylaws For Membership Review - DRAFT - 1st Reading
Hello Fellow Members of the PPCC!
In February, a small committee of members were selected by the Board to review the Club's bylaws and recommend updates, reflective of changes in the way we do business today. A tri-annual review of our bylaws is actually part of the bylaws framework, so knocking it out early in the year keeps us on track with that requirement.
The committee discussed changes and updates both in person, and via email, and after two revisions of the document, submitted those recommendations to the Board.
The PPCC Board is now ready to submit to the club membership, the attached updated PPCC Bylaws document for a first reading and comment window of 7 days ((4/3/17). At the end of that window, the committee will review any comments submitted, and, if appropriate, incorporate those changes into the DRAFT document. The updated document will then be submitted to the membership for a 2nd reading and comment period of 7 days. After incorporating any additional changes, the updated bylaws will be put to a vote of the membership for ratification during the April meeting. Per the bylaws; "All actions regarding amendments to the bylaws will be governed by a two-thirds (2/3) majority of the membership present".
A few of the changes to note would be the elimination of the Club Historian role (with digital files being stored on line, no need for paper retention anymore), a revision of our Membership categories, a revision of our voting procedures, and the addition of a section addressing the use of the PPCC Club emblem (branding policy - to protect our club identity).
Chris will allot a portion of the April meeting agenda (April 23rd) for discussion of the document, prior to the vote. If you have any comments or additional input that you would like to share, please be prepared to speak to specifics within the document at that time.
A big thanks to all of the members of the Bylaws Update Committee for their input; Chris, Randy, Mary Ellen, and Wayne. Great job!
Ed Halpin
