Hello PPCC Crew!!

I've had a couple questions related to one of the discussion points in our Club meeting yesterday.

I wanted to confirm with everyone that, as a member of the PPCC, which is an associated member club of the Collector Car Council of Colorado (CCCC) (formerly the Old Car Council), there is a publicized 10% discount on collector car insurance through both Hagerty and through Chrome/APAC.

The Agent who gave the latest presentation to the CCCC was Sara Bain out of I think the Englewood office, however, you should be able to contact your current Agent and have them confirm and apply the discount. They did say it was a new policy, released and discussed in meetings just last week, so your agent may hem and haw, but press them to do the research so you can pick up the discount.

To verify the Club's affiliation, your Agent can check the CCCC website under Member Clubs > General Motors: http://www.collectorcarcouncil.com/node/16

Let me know directly if you run into any problems.

Just another way that it pays to be in the Pikes Peak Corvair Club!!

One other thing to note, in respect to collector car insurance policies; there are two different types of policies, "Agreed Value" and "Stated Value". Do you know which one you have? If not, take a look at your policy, it's written on the policy documents. You can Google the in depth definitions, but in short, a stated value policy will pay you the stated value of the vehicle, as stated on the policy, that's the $ figure that the insurance company says your car is worth. You total the car, and that's the max you get. So, if you have a '65 Monza Coupe, and the policy says it's worth $5k, and you're cool with that because it really is only worth $5k, then you're good to go.

But what if you just had the car painted and redid the suspension, and interior, and all that, and you've got $11k into that $5k car. Well, that's where the "Agreed Value" policy comes in to play. Depending on the insurer, you send in pictures of the car to show the condition and verify the higher value, and if the insurance company agrees, then they will write and agreed value, and in the event of the car getting totalled, you'll receive that higher "agreed" value

Remember, your PPCC 10% discount applies to all of your collector car insurance policies, not just the Corvairs. So if you've got a nice Chevelle, or Camaro, or dare I say, .... a Mustang, the discount still applies.

Safe travels!!
