Hello again PPCC Crew,
A couple months ago, I had sent out a note to the group regarding one of our newest members to the PPCC family, a young man named Kody D'Ascenz, who lives up in Denver, and is in need of some parts for his '62 Monza Coupe.
In that note, I had mentioned that Kody is a young fella, in his late 20s, who recently finished trade school, has started a new job, and is extremely limited on funds (read that as he has none). His connection to Corvairs goes back to his Grandpa, who was a founding member of the RMC, from what I'm told. But, he is enthusiastic on getting his car in reliable and safe condition, so he can use it for work.
After taking a look at the car, and assessing the work which needs to be done, there's a lot still needed to make it reliable transportation.
A great big thank you to all of the PPCC members who reached out with parts, thus far.
After chatting with Kody the other day, I wanted to resend his list of "needs", so if you have a part around that you're not using, and would be willing to donate it to the cause, please reach out to Kody directly at 720-840-8114 (he doesn't have email) and coordinate with him to either pick the parts up from you, or for you to drop the parts off with him.
Here is the original list. When you chat with him, Kody can tell you directly if he's acquired a specific part already:
Starter
Brake Shoes, Brake Fluid
Tune Up Parts (can be a good used set of points, rotor, cap, plugs, wires)
Air Filters
Carb Rebuild Kits
Oil Filter & Oil
Fan Belt
Battery
Fuel Lines, Stock (left & right) - were cut by previous owner
Tires (what's on the car are very old) and a 5th wheel & tire for a spare.
Thanks in advance for assisting one of our younger folks in building his Corvair passion.
Ed Halpin, PPCC
