Greetings to everyone in both the PPCC and the RMC,

We had several folks from both clubs ask about doing a Saturday Fall tour,
as well as a Sunday tour, so we will do one each day and make a weekend of
enjoying our cars and the Fall colors!

*Saturday the 22nd*, everyone can meet up at 10:15 am, at the King Soopers
parking lot on Uintah St., in Colorado Springs. We will depart at 10:30 for
a scenic drive up to Victor and Cripple Creek. For those who haven't been
up there, these are historic mining towns with beautiful views of the Fall
colors. PPCC has done this Fall tour to these locations multiple times and
its always fun. We will stop for lunch in Victor.
*Driving directions to the meeting location*: Take Route 25
to Colorado Springs and exit on the Uintah St. exit. Turn west and you'll
be on West Uintah St., and drive about .9 miles. Turn right into the King
Soopers parking lot. If you get to 19th St., you've gone a bit too far. See
you Saturday for this trip.

*Sunday the 23rd*, the destination is Alma, CO another mining town a bit
north of Fairplay for lunch at the South Park Saloon at 1:30 pm. Folks
coming from the Springs, will be at Rudy's Country BBQ and Gas Station on
Route 24 at 10:15 am, with a 10:30 departure. we will go out 24 to Lake
George and turn right on route 77 (Tarryall Rd.), going past the Tarryall
Reservoir meeting up with Route 285 at Jefferson. Then its just 16 miles
west to Fairplay and north on Route 9 to Alma.
Denver folks will meet at the Fort Restaurant at 11:45 am. Head on out
Route 285 over Kenosha Pass and down to Fairplay, turning north on Route 9
to Alma. The Restaurant has parking on the north side and of course parking
on the street. After lunch, there is time if you choose to visit historic
South Park in Fairplay. This will be another fun day enjoying the Fall
Color and each other's company.

If you think you'll be going on one or both, please let me know so I can
know who to be looking for at the meet-up locations. Thanks.

Keep Vairin'
Chris Kimberly
