PPCC List - The Wearin' of the Green

Hi all!  We have once again been invited to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Colorado Springs.  The information is below.

We currently only have two families who have committed to the parade.  It would be a shame if we didn’t have a few more participants.  Please let Randy Karl<mailto:karlrj57 at gmail.com> or Kathy Green<mailto:karmknecht at msn.com> know if you’re interested.  If you don’t have a car to drive, I suspect there may be a car or two available that you could hop into and drive in the parade anyway – we can help you work out the logistics.

Last year we met at Penrose Hospital (2222 N. Nevada Ave) Colorado Springs by 10:30, to regroup and allow time to get to our staging area in time.  Assuming the staging area is the same it is only 7 min away on Tejon, between Dale St. and Monument St.

PPCC is invited to participate in the 39th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 12:00 Noon in Downtown Colorado Springs.  Our theme this year is “Lucky Shamrocks”.



The Parade Route starts at Tejon & St. Vrain Streets, marching south on Tejon Street to Vermijo Street where we will disband.  Immediately before the parade, the “5K on St. Patrick’s Day” Race will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Wee Leprechaun Fun Run at 11:00 a.m. Both races start at Acacia Park.  The 50K Bike Ride is still happening, but we have split it into 2 weekends.  The Family Ride will be on Parade Day and the Challenging and Intermediate Rides will be held on March 18th.



CAR CLUBS are limited to 10 Vehicles please!  The parade has become so popular with the community and instead of turning people away, we are limiting the size of each entry so that we can include more variety of entries.



I have signed us up for at least 4-5 Corvairs, with room for up to Ten.  Please reply if you would like to participate.  We participated last year and it was great fun!
