PPCC List - Bug-out and weather forcast

All,

 

Well, the weather wasn’t the best (understatement of the year!), but I think we all had a great time at the bug-out regardless of 3-4 in of snow! Rex and Kristal, Chris, Jerry, Steve made it out to the Dowling place. Randy apparently was stampeded by elk in the snow, attacked by zombies, almost starved to death…and was nearly hit by a meteor so he had a ‘reasonable’ excuse for heading home. We had no Corvairs due to the snow, but we nonetheless stood around in the barn freezing, talking about cars, welders, etc. There was hot coffee for all so that helped. Eventually, however, we made the 5 mile trek through the blowing snow back up to the house and had some burgers, dogs, sides and a wonderful cheese cake that Steve slaved over for at least 10 min at Costco. No, really…it was awesome!

 

So in the end we had fun get together regardless of the weather! We’ll set something up again soon through the club for some actual work to get done! I think Jerry may have a few pics to share.

Based on feedback, our Corvair club is happy to brave the elements so we are on for 1000 showtime. The gate will be open. We’ll try to get all the ‘vairs into the barn before the rain if possible,

 

Please dress accordingly. The barn will be dry but without heating can get a bit cold though the cement is pretty warm with all the good weather we’ve had.

All,

I've been watching the weather and since talking with Jerry last night, the
forecast is getting a bit worse. I'd like to get a sense from the crowd if
we should press ahead given that the barn will be dry (but is not heated)
and so far the rain/snow appears to be 'scheduled' for later in the day, or
should we look to postpone for a better weekend. I'm happy to press ahead
but I don't have to make the slog to black forest.

Please let me know your thoughts asap
