Here's an update...
This is a cut and paste of my prior email on 8-12-24 at 11:45 AM. There have been some offers from others that I'll update here.
Hi all,
So, after sewing potential confusion again about the fire ban, here's where we stand (typing from work):
* From Eric, 8-12-24 at 8:48 PM, Eric has offered to bring a larger 12 burger capable propane grill with propane in his non-Corvair pick-up since he doesn't have a Corvair available. This would allow Dale and Rick to drive Corvairs and not fuss with trying to bring a grill. Eric, let's do this. Bring Ignition source.
* (8/16) Dale & Rick, let's use Eric's grill
* (8-2 meeting) Paul Seyforth said he can bring tableware. It wouldn't hurt to bring your own in case. Paul, does this include napkins? Paul, any update? Confirmation? (8/16) Paul is bringing pickles too and 4 table cloths.
* (8-2 meeting) Rick said he has cups and plates. Rick, Still good? (8/16) Rick has cups, plates, plastic tableware, napkins and a medium cooler with ice (and trash bags and toothpicks).
* (8-2 meeting) Paul said he will bring tomatoes and onions (and pickles). Paul, please also bring a sharp knife in case if you don't pre-slice the stuff. (Good shape on this Paul?)
* We have (8/16 two sets) of cooking utensils so I'll bring those. (Karen says we have two sets plus one big grill will help, so Gail & Cory, we're good)
* (8-2 meeting) I've been assigned 48 hamburger patties
* (8-2 meeting) I've been assigned 24 brats
* (8-2 meeting) I've been assigned a package of hot dogs
* (8-2 meeting) I've been assigned 16 veggie burgers (2 boxes)
* I've been assigned condiments; I'm thinking Costco package of multiple ketchup bottles, maybe one yellow mustard, one brown mustard, one mayo, one relish, (8/16, Paul is bringing pickles), in squeeze bottles
* I've been assigned buns for the above items (64 Hamburgers, 30 some buns for hot dogs/brats) Comments on what I've listed for Karen & I? We're planning the Costco run for Saturday PM
* Dianne has offered 4 cases of bottled water. (8/16 I'll grab basic sodas like Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi in 12 oz 12 packs today) and leave it to others to bring their own "specialties?"
I do not have a large cooler. (Kory & Gail have offered one. Can you bring ice? Do we have another large cooler plus ice if we need it?) (8/16 Rick offered a medium one so Dale, I'll skip yours) I can provide a smallish one for the meats. Anybody have a large cooler or two?
Is the club providing pop or any other beverages or are those on us except for water? (See water and pop above)
Karen usually thinks of plastic table cloths.
Everybody brings something to share. It would be handy if you bring serving utensils. We could perhaps share what you're bringing via group email so we don't have all salad or brownies but a mix of both.
PPCC has their club meeting that morning in Monument. Traditionally they are invited. I won't make their meeting but they are welcome to come to the picnic. (8/16, there is a car show after their meeting so I don't foresee many from PPCC but they remain welcome)
Karen and I will make a pilgrimage to Costco on Saturday. She has the magic card. We'll have a receipt or two for Mr. Dinsdale for the bulk items we provide. I'll leave it to others to decide if they want to be reimbursed for other bulk items.
I have no doubt you will let me know what I've forgotten.
See you all Sunday (about 48 hours from this email)!
Regards,
Mike
