Subject: PPCC List - FW: Fall Drive

Hello all,

Just a reminder, out fall drive is this Sunday, September 28th. Below is all the information. If you have not let me know you will be joining us, please do ASAP, So I can let the restaurant know. Also, so we can watch and wait for you at the shopping center before we leave.

We will be meeting at a different place than we have in the past, so we don’t all have to try to stay together through the short-left turn light out of Rudy’s. We’ll be meeting across Highway 24 from Rudy’s.

When headed west on Highway 24, turn right (north) onto 26th street.   Head one block north then turn left (west) onto Colorado.  There is a large parking lot on the South-West corner of Colorado and 26th at the Red Rock Canyon Shopping Center. We will plan on leaving there by 10am, so we will be looking for you before that. As of right now, I have heard from 22 members plus kids, 12 cars. Mostly Corvairs and some water-eaters, which is just fine! The more, the merrier!

When we leave the shopping center, we will head west on Highway 24 through Woodland Park, and turn south at Divide on Highway 67 going towards Victor & Cripple Creek. We’ll stop along the way to take a photo of the cars on the trip. We will head towards Cripple Creek for lunch at Maggie's. They have an American fair for lunch, along with all day breakfast. There is parking on three corners behind Maggie’s at 3rd & Myers Ave.

After lunch you can head home or join us for a short drive (4 miles) up to see Rita the Rock Planter (troll) just south of Cripple Creek. You can park at the lower lot, or go up a short dirt road to a closer lot. From there it is just a short walk to Rita, where we can take a group photo.

Once done there, you are welcome to go back through Cripple Creek or continue west through Victor to head home.  You’ll find beautiful sights, shopping, and of course the opportunity to gamble at either town.

Hopefully, there will be some golden leaves to view. Either way, it is always a good time to show off our cars and have a great time visiting with other members.
