Mike,

Are you leaving Thursday or Friday? Steve W., Jon F. and I are leaving on Friday, meeting at the Safeway on S. Nevada Ave at 8:30.

We haven’t discussed it but the route my map defaults to (from the Safeway) Highway 115 south to Penrose and US 50 into Montrose. That would intersect with US 285 at Ponka Springs around 10:30 or so. Assuming your coming down 285.

If we were to take US 24 we would arrive Antero Junction around 10:00.

Overall, for us the time/distance is about the same between the two routes. Looking for input from Jon and Steve?

I agree the more hands in the convoy gives me comfort.

Randy

I'm sorry to hit even those who are not going to Montrose but I've lost the thread of who is likely to caravan from the Springs.

Considering my dainty back issues, fixing a car might prove to be difficult if one breaks. I'll have two Corvairs and I think two water pumpers in our little crew, and probably 3 people who could operate a wrench with guidance.

My question is, are the folks from Colorado Springs likely to take Highway 24? If so, when do you suppose you'd hit Antero Junction where Highway 24 meets Highway 285? I have no idea when we'd likely leave here and I would not want one group to wait on another but maybe we might approximately meet in the vicinity of the junction if the timing happens to work out.

I am the guy who did a new exhaust system despite my back, but roadside repairs would be even less fun.

I do have some tools and a few parts in the assortment in my trunk.

Regards,

Mike
