<P><SPAN>I took a ride up to Bailey this afternoon to take a look at the 1960 Horizon Blue Corvair sedan that is listed on the Denver Craig's list for $950.00</SPAN></P>

<P><SPAN>While I've decided not to but the car myself since I'm really looking for a late model convertible for my next project, I wanted to share the particulars with everyone as it is a nice 1 1/2 owner original Colorado car and it is running and complete.</SPAN></P>

<P><SPAN>Here's the background: the car was purchased new in Pagosa Springs back in 1960 by a local lady, who about 6 months later wound up marrying the car dealership owner, a guy name Gibson. The "Gibson Chevrolet" medallion is still on the rear of the car. The lady drove the car 14k miles, and then parked it in her garage for the next 35 years, and then passed away. Her son inherited the house and the car was in the garage. The guy that is selling it on Craig's list is a plumbing contractor who took the car off the son's hands last year and hasn't bothered to register it. It has a clean Colorado title, started right up, ran nice, but it does need a couple things like a new muffler, tires, and likely a vacuum modulator valve for the transmission (stalls when it stops but runs great in neutral).</SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN></SPAN> </P>
<P><SPAN>It is a 569 Sedan (4 door) with the base 80 hp engine tied to a 2 speed Powerglide. The car is Kansas City built with a VIN of 00569K104219 making it an over all pretty early car (#4219), with the Fisher tag indicating that it is KC 1158 (the 1158th car of that model produced in Kansas City). It is the low end model for that year with black rubber mats inside (all in great shape), bench seats, and limited options. The options that I was able to see on the car were the Gas Heater and back-up lights. The options I noticed were not on the car were glove box light and windshield washer. The AM radio works, the glass is all good, and the headliner is in perfect shape. The interior is Black and Grey, bench seats in front and back, with a small seam separation on the back seat, driver side.</SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN></SPAN> </P>
<P><SPAN>I looked under the floor mats and saw that the driver side floor pan is rusted through, which is pretty typical of the ones that had rubber mats. The passenger side looked OK as did the back pans, from what I was able to see. There is virtually no rust on the outside of the car, just a couple dings and dents, but nothing too big. </SPAN></P>

<P><SPAN>I did not get to test drive it as it doesn't have tags, and it's up on top of a mountain in Baily, and the tires look like they may be 30 years old, but it seems pretty nice.</SPAN></P>

<P><SPAN>After talking with the guy and providing some info, he said that he may rethink selling the car if someone doesn't buy it, especially since the convention is coming up. So I passed him the club's info and told him to hang on to my info.</SPAN></P>

<P><SPAN>Not sure if anyone is looking for a 60 as a project car, but I wanted to share. This is a solid stock restoration opportunity as the car is complete, unmolested, and well maintained. He even had the original owner's manual and sales receipts with notes the owner made about tire pressure and tings like that.</SPAN></P>
