trick is to have someone depress the button on the outside and pull. You
on the inside at the same time hit the door with your shoulder or place a 2x4
across the door under the window and hit it hard with your feet. Remember the
button needs to be depressed. You will break the plastic piece that has
locked up you latch and it will work perfectly after that.

think I learned the shoulder from Steve Goodman and the 2x4 and feet from Ed
Corston. The shoulder worked for me and it still works years
