One of our long-time members, Phyllis Neal, wife of John and mother of Larry Neal, passed away on Sunday morning.<br></div><div aria-label="Compose body"><br></div><div aria-label="Compose body">Our thoughts and prayers go out to John, Larry, and the rest of the Neal family as we deal with the loss of this very special lady.</div><div aria-label="Compose body"><br></div><div aria-label="Compose body">Flowers are being sent, on behalf of the Club to honor Phyllis. She will be very much missed.</div><div aria-label="Compose body"><br></div><div aria-label="Compose body">Service information is provided below.<br></div><div><br></div><div>Ed Halpin, President, Pikes Peak Corvair Club<br></div><div>--------------------------------------------------------------------------<br></div><div><p style="margin-top: px; margin-bottom: px; line-height: normal;" data-mce-style="margin-top: px; margin-bottom: px; line-height: normal;"><b><span style="font-size: 24.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';" data-mce-style="font-size: 24.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';">Phyllis Ann Neal </span></b></p><p style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; line-height: normal;" data-mce-style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';" data-mce-style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';"> <img src="cid:4c9aa54a6f55f4d667856b28e21c9dc65ece3c03@zimbra" alt=""></span></p><p style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; line-height: normal;" data-mce-style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';" data-mce-style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';">Phyllis Ann Neal (Wehnes) (76), Black Forest, Colorado, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, August 31, 2014, with her husband of 55 years by her side, at Select Hospital, Colorado Springs, CO, after a long struggle with congestive heart failure. </span><span style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';" data-mce-style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';"><br> <br> </span><span style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';" data-mce-style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';">Phyllis was born April 13, 1938, on her mother's birthday, to Raymond Leroy Wehnes and Mary Lucile Wehnes (Rhodes) in Newton, Kansas. She attended schools in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was a member of the Methodist Church and attended Nazarene churches in Colorado Springs. She played organ for her church and cello in the Tulsa Central High School orchestra. She received a BA degree in elementary education and music from Northeastern Oklahoma University. She married John T. Neal, January 24, 1959 and they lived in Tahlequah, Oklahoma; Oceanside, California; Tulsa, Oklahoma and Wewoka, Oklahoma before settling down in Colorado Springs in 1964. She taught elementary school and music in Wewoka, and Madison Elementary in Colorado Springs. </span><span style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';" data-mce-style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';"><br> <br> </span><span style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';" data-mce-style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';">Phyllis was exceptionally talented in music; playing piano, cello, electronic and pipe organ. She excelled in arts and crafts including stained glass and porcelain doll making, winning ribbons for her fine doll clothes and meticulous painting. She was an expert seamstress and loved making children's clothing, especially girls' dresses. She was a trained pilot capable flying and landing in case of emergency situation while flying with her family and pilot husband. She enjoyed many events with her friends in activities including bowling leagues, Pikes Peak Corvair Club. National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, Theatrical Pipe Organ Society and various doll making groups.</span><span style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';" data-mce-style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';"><br> <br> </span><span style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';" data-mce-style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';">She is survived by her husband and their 3 sons; Larry Neal of Colorado Springs; David Neal (wife Sue Ellen) of Bridgeton, NJ, Roger Neal (wife Anika) of Glenwood Springs, Colorado; 4 grandchildren; Samantha Neal, John F. Neal, Mallerie Nott and Zachary Neal, one great grand daughter, Autumn Nott. She is also survived by her sister, Jeaneen Johnson of Kingwood, Texas with whom she shared many talents. She leaves many special nieces, nephews and friends with whom she shared many wonderful times. She so loved all of her and her husband's relatives and was so proud of them all. Her parents and brother, Charles L. Wehnes, preceded her passing. </span><span style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';" data-mce-style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';"><br> <br> </span><span style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';" data-mce-style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';">A loving mother and wife, loved by all who knew her, She will be sadly missed, but would want all to remember the great times together.</span><span style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';" data-mce-style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';"><br> <br> </span><span style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';" data-mce-style="font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';">A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4th from 4pm-7pm at Evergreen Funeral Home with a funeral service on Friday, September 5th at 10:30am and a burial directly to follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery.</span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';" data-mce-style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman','serif';"></span></p></div><div><br></div><div><br></div></div></body></html>
