Each has fill hole and both must be checked. The gear lube transfers between the two units but will NOT allow one to fill other quickly.</div><div><br></div><div>Plug for diff is on dr side to rear of U-joint. Square head. Trans is on dr side on the trans side cover. </div><div><br></div><div>Obviously car must be in the air and level. DO NOT overfill!! Level should be approx 1" below bottom of fill hole on each. There are NO drain plugs on either unit so fill slowly.</div><div><br></div><div>Use only 80-90 or 85-90 GL-4 Gear lube. Do NOT use synthetic lubes. Do NOT use any that state GL-5!! I don't have time to type the reasons.</div><div><br></div><div>Be very careful if you use a quick lube business. Most don't care about which lube and will overfill.</div><div><br></div><div>Lastly the parts book that will help you is referred to as: P&A 30. There is a shroud plate covering the area. I imagine I have to remove that unless it is someplace I'm not aware of. I don't think I should be driving the car without the axle oil.
