Dale was also a member of the PPCC at one time, so there is a bit of a connection to this event, which is always a good time to catch up with old friends from the northern club, make new ones, and check out some of the other Corvairs in the area.

Specifics for the event are noted below. The specific picnic area is "Meadowlark Cove", so ask for directions at the gate if you've never been to the park before, or you're unsure of the area.

Upon entry to the Park, as a general visitor, you'll be required to pay a $10 (per vehicle) Day Pass / Entrance Fee. For Seniors (ages 62 and older), and those with Disabilities the entrance fee is $5. NOTE: Entrance fees will not be reimbursed by the Club this year, but we're buying most of the eats, so it'll work out just fine for everyone.

While the Club will be providing food from the grill (hamburgers and hot dogs) and all the fixin's, we're asking members who plan to attend to bring a favorite dish to share with the group. Please make sure you bring a big spoon or fork for folks to serve themselves with, and also, mark your bowl/plate/dish with your name so we can make sure it gets back to you at the end of the picnic.

Also, be sure to bring a folding chair, if you'd like. While there are plenty of picnic tables available, some folks may enjoy a little more back support, so please plan accordingly.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday.

Drive safe!

Ed Halpin

President, RMC

Directions to Bear Creek State Park:

From the North and South on I-25:

Take I-25 to Exit 194 (CO-470 junction) and follow signs to CO-470 West

Continue on CO-470 West to CO-8 E/W Morrison Rd.

Take the Morrison Rd. exit from CO-470 West, and merge (right) onto CO-8 E/W Morrison Rd

Bear Creek State Park entrance will be on the right

From the North on I-70:

Take I-70 W to CO-470 Interchange and take CO-470 East

Continue on CO-47 East to CO-8 E/W Morrison Rd.

Take the CO-8 Morrison Rd. exit from CO-470 E

Turn left at the light (at the end of the exit ramp)

Continue straight onto CO-8 E/W Morrison Rd

Bear Creek State Park entrance will be on the right

* Meadowlark Cove is a covered shelter (25' X 45') located on the west side of the park just a short walk to the Big Soda Lake swim beach, boat rentals, and marina, with easy access to trails.
