I don’t know where that misinformation came from but likely came from the largely obsolete Guidelines written way back in 1990. Yes, eventually that detailed info is needed but it develops over a three (3) year period of time. That is why future conventions, if any, are started three (3) years in advance. The effort evolves in stages, not all at once.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">CORSA guidelines start from a simple Bid that is mostly Planning and Organization. Yes, Chair positions are eventually needed but those are not required initially. Staffing is done after the basic planning is established and basic tasks are listed. The amount of people required depends upon the Plan. The Plan outlines what components of the Convention the host club and supporting clubs want to include. The Plan remains a guidepost during the three (3) years and even in the post-Convention review. In the Bid, yes, the Chairperson , Convention dates, proposed host hotel, and list of proposed target events (Concours, moving events, local tours, banquet, etc.) are outlined but they don’t need to be staffed three (3) years in advance. They don’t need to be because they can’t be (unless someone has a very clear crystal ball).</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">The host club itself is not obligated to provide and staff all activities in the Bid or even eventually. Supporting clubs and CORSA help. Next year’s Convention (Atlanta) I’m told is comprised of five (5) clubs working together under a host club. They never supplied in the Bid stage a complete list of every single chair person. Likely key candidates however may have been mentioned but not specific people for every task. Wisconsin (2023) , I believe, has three (3) clubs working together. Sturbridge had one host club and two (2) primary support clubs. Sturbridge didn’t even have a complete staff until after the second meeting. CORSA took care of scoring, registration data, hotel negotiations, insurance etc.. Complete staffing is not performed in the bid stage. People volunteered after the Plan and Organization areas were defined and approved so those volunteers could see if they liked the Plan and if they saw parts of the Organization where they could help. Some people actually changed from one activity to another as the work progressed over the years leading up to the Convention.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">I view the sequence like that used for writing a term term paper. The (Plan) or topic is thought of first. The main points (Organization) or outline is next. After that, the details are written (essentially Staffing). It is impossible to jump ahead to Staffing when the Plan and general Organization hasn’t been decided upon. First things first. Floor mats are not purchased first and then the vehicle.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">With 2024, we had 15 members take the time to respond vote and be heard. Dozens others chose to be silent. Of the 15, 14 voted Thumbs Up, or about 93% of who responded. The one who initially voted Thumbs Down even eventually offered to Chair a session because they are pro-Corvair, pro-Corvair activities, pro- Corvair preservation. If there is no Convention, it will be the silent who were heard.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">I hope people are not forming opinions based upon the false notion that all of the detailed information is required up front. The basics , Plan and Organization, yes, are required but three (3) years is purposely given to develop the details and over those years things can and likely will change. Change is a reality. That is why CORSA only requires certain details along the way not at the start and allows three (3) years for the pan to be developed and be competed si=o the effort results in a successful Convention.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""><br class=""><div class="">

You need ice chests and ice to keep drinks cold and you need sometimes a small group of people to transport food and drinks.</div><div dir="auto" class=""> D. You need people to man the room. I trust that all of you have seen the email that John sent earlier this week regarding his stepping down as President of PPCC over issues arising from club discussions regarding possible club hosting of the 2024 CORSA National Convention. I personally am sad
that things got to that point, but at the board meeting I called this week as acting president to discuss how to proceed and get past this, we all agreed that we need to work as a club to continue with our purpose to promote the acquisition, preservation,
restoration, exhibition, and enjoyment of Corvairs. </div>

We also discussed how to proceed with the subject of hosting the convention in 2024, and voted unanimously not to present a bid to CORSA to host the convention. We realize that while there were some members who had expressed interest in this, there were numerous
unanswered questions, and pressures being placed on us to get this done ASAP without having updated written guidance provided by CORSA. </div>
