<li class="default-style" style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif; color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt;">The cars are pretty dirty and weathered. I don't think they were wrecked, mostly stored outside in the sun.</span></li>
<li class="default-style" style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif; color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt;">The years on the web page may not be correct. I think the years were 60-64, maybe mostly '62-'63.</span></li>
<li class="default-style" style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif; color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt;">There is some glass in the earlies. I'm not an early guy but I think there was at least one OK windshield, and probably a rear window or two. I noticed one door window where the glass layers were delaminating.</span></li>
<li class="default-style" style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif; color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt;">It looked like one of the earlies might have had A/C. The dryer was in the rear and part of the interior vent assembly was on the floor.</span></li>
<li class="default-style" style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif; color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt;">I didn't see evidence of a gas heater but there was a muffler in the trunk. </span></li>
<li class="default-style" style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif; color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt;">I grabbed the early carbs for Steve. The air cleaners were rusty junk or full of rodent nesting.</span></li>
<li class="default-style" style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif; color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt;">There were parts of engines and some transmissions still in the earlies. I think one stick shift and one PG still in place. One car, probably a '64 had all of the power train removed.</span></li>
<li class="default-style" style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif; color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt;">I did not check to see if rear axles were in place. I think many were.</span></li>
<li class="default-style" style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif; color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt;">I did not really look at the early front ends or interiors. Don't know about parts there. Mostly the bezels and lights were gone.</span></li>
<li class="default-style" style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif; color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt;">The late was a '68 by the body tag. The differential, transmission and part of the engine were still in it. The rear hubs are gone. all of the engine seal retainers are still there except the one I need. It has the smog exhaust manifolds on it. The heads are still on it. The top engine cover and oil filter adapter are gone. The rear engine cover is gone. The few goodies I was after aside from the rear window were gone. I left the stainless rear window trim sitting on the roof. The front windshield is cracked, the driver's door glass was trashed. It looked like it had good driver's side rear window tinted glass and passenger side tinted glass looked OK. It appeared the door latches and window regulators were functional. It has the 4-speed pedal group still in it. These are needed for late-late ('67-'69) PG to 4-speed rescues because they are different from '65-'66. I hated to leave it but I don't need it. I think the shifter, probably the shift tube are still in it, minus the shifter knob. Probably the miscellaneous small shifter parts and struts under the car are still there. Bring your PB Blaster. I didn't check on the steering shaft or box because I don't need it. The steering wheel was in it and dirty. I think the dash cluster is still in it. The rear seat belts are in it but in nasty condition with water stains and rusty hardware. The trunk is full of junk. Sometimes there is gold in the various junk piles in the cars but I was short of time.</span></li>

<span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt;">As always, it is sad for me to see Corvairs in a salvage yard. I don't know how much longer they will be there. They said there has been a fair amount of activity. I hate to see useable but irreplaceable Corvair stuff ending up as rebar but I'm getting to where I'm not up to taking cars apart on a significant basis in salvage yards.</span>
