Subject: Car Show/Club in Montrose

Hi Steve,

I was looking at on-line ads in the Rocky Mtn news and I found an ad =
under swap meet & events that sounded really cool.There's a car show in =
Montrose in July. The club who sponsors it is called black canyon =
classics out of Montrose, CO. They have a website, =
www.blackcanyonclassics.org that is really full of pictures and great =
info.=20

This year's show is July 9,10, & 11 which is held on the grass field of =
Columbine Middle School in Montrose. Apparently, the car club's =
membership is open to about any vehicle from 1900-present, including a =
member with a '63 (?) Rampside pick-up (red with white stripe). After =
surfing the pictures from last year's show I was amazed at the variety =
of vehicles that attended. There were the usual 55-57 chevy's, muscle =
cars, vettes but also there was a '61 Corvair monza coupe and right =
behind a silver Porsche speedster was a white '62 Corvair convt. =
COOOOOOL! There were also some pretty unusual cars like '62 Rolls Royce =
Sedan, '52 Crosley, '56 Austin Healey Sprite, '59 Rambler American, '59 =
Desoto, and lots more. They have the welcome cruise/registration on =
Friday night (9th) from 5:30pm-9:30pm, the car show on Saturday (10th) =
from 8am-4pm with over 92 awards given out ON THE FIELD right at the end =
of the show, and THEN if you want from 6:30pm they have a DRIVE-IN movie =
event! That's pretty cool considering how few drive-in movie theatres =
are left in the U.S. I've been really wanting to get my convt to a =
drive-in, but never seem to do it. Also in the area is a QUILT SHOW that =
might interest a few of our members as well. Then Sunday is another mini =
cruise to wrap the weekend up. I thought this event might be something =
our RMC/PPCC members might be interested in attending (either this year =
or next?). I know it conflicts with the usual Mountain Mania event that =
is in Buena Vista, but change is good right!

Let me know what you think. Also could you e-mail this message to the =
RMC list so if others want to check out the web-site they can.

I signed up for the list, but apparently is wasn't working right (or I =
did it wrong?) so I never got a confirmation e-mail that my sign on =
worked?? Can you sign me up again.

Thanks,

Laura=20
