[Rmc-list] Corsa Update

Hi all, Now that we have this handy email list it will make it easy to
share what's going on with CORSA.  Below are some notes from our monthly
conference call last night.

1. Corsa Board Elections - Election results will be published soon.

2. Membership Committee Update - Corsa flyers still being distributed in
all Clarks and California Corvairs orders.  Many have been sent out w/ a
positive response.

3. CPF Museum, Offer for permanent site in Decatur, Il. - Corvair
Preservation Foundation's Corvair museum is currently housed in the Hudson
museum in Ypsilanti, MI.  The Hudson club wants Corsa out because they need
more space for Hudsons.  A new location is being sought as well as ways to
fund a new location.  A current possibility is space available at the
Chevrolet Hall of Fame museum in Decatur, IL.  This space offers a lot of
room but is somewhat costly, however the museum would be run by the Chevy
museum which would save us from staffing it.  Chevy museum is offering to
provide a few dollars to Corsa on their ticket price to help fund but not
enough to cover the rent.

4. 2020 San Diego Convention Proposal - Self explanatory.

5. Announcement to Members regarding new Business Services Secretary,
Social Media winner, and Executive Editor - Announcement of these contract
positions to be made soon.  These positions will fill those duties done by
Harry and Mike who are retiring at the end of the year.

6. Corsa Board Involvement in Club Operations starting January 2018.

7. Corsa Board Legal Council representative - Discussed need for permanent
legal council in Illinois (where Corsa is incorporated).  Decided it is
probably not necessary to retain council and more cost effective to obtain
council when needed.

8. Dinner plan for Harry and Mike in Independence at Convention - Farewell
dinner being planned at this summer's convention.  Final location TBD.

9. Corsa CPF Endowment fund - Discussed this as a way to fund the new
museum location.

10. Corsa Merchandise status - Discussed various ways to sell Corsa
merchandise such as t-shirts, etc.  A problem in the past has been the cost
and storage of inventory, discussed on-demand printing options.
