There is a lot of work that goes into these events, and the good news is that if this is well received I am in a great spot to know how to do it again in the future with a lot less initial effort. It promises to be fun for spectato
rs as well since the site has some fine viewing / photo op locations. There are a few things we need for our setup and I hope someone can step up with the items we need. There are also a few nice to have's listed afterward. First off, most of our drivers indicated they don't have a helmet and want to borrow one. If you can get your own, please do. If you have helmets you can bring, for others, please do. Sawhorses as a moveable barrier--I am bringing 2, I need 2 more. Shade awnings, including some weights to hold the legs. We can't stake them to the pavement . . . need at least 1 for timing, and a couple others would be nice for participants / spectators. I have some old brake drums / rotors that could be placed around and tied to legs for 1 tent. Orange Safety vests for course workers. I have 1, need 3 or 4.A folding table and a few folding or camp chairs for registration (I'm bringing mine for timing.)Anyone have a roll of caution tape or similar?Several large fire e
xtinguishers (just in case, need for insurance reasons)Spill cleanup material (not that your Corvair is going to leak, but again just in case)Easel to hold a whiteboard that serves as scoreboard.Blue painter's masking tape and/ or white shoe polish for numbersTrash barrel and bags. There are a few optional things that would be nice, since it is an early morning start to potentially a hot outdoor morning:Couple boxes of donuts or other goodiesCoffee in thermos containers (no power available, so no coffee pots.Cups, creamer, sugarTable to put it all on Large (full) drinking water jugs, stack of cups.SunscreenBox of tissuesPlease write me back ASAP if you can provide any of the above. Watch for other messages as we bring the preparations to a close this week. Thanks,RobRob Brereton_______________________________________________ This message was sent by the RMCs mailing list, all copyrights are the property of the writer, please attribute properly.
