Club Members:
Ed Halpin asked that I work on getting a great display of Corvair vehicles for the prestigious Arapahoe Concours. I figure…no problem. Lots of very impressive vehicles in the clubs. There are details that need to be worked out however.
We are allowed twelve (12) vehicle spaces. There will be 1st Place and Show awards in five (5) classes (we will likely use Early Open, Early Closed, Late Open, Late Closed, and Other, such as FC’s, modified, etc.). The classes are up to us….to be determined.
Unlike CORSA rules, there is NO undercarriage judging (hooray!). There is NO functionality inspection (CORSA Unit 9) (hooray!). The judge will just look at areas of the vehicle for Cleanliness and Condition. The judging is simply one vehicle versus another, not versus some kind of nebulous “perfection”. Not versus “originality”.
Full disclosure. There will be a $50 fee (tax free donation) paid to the event sponsors for the vehicles participating in the Concours. This is an annual fund raising event after all.
First…I need to know by Memorial Day who wants to participate. From that, I’ve been asked to pick the twelve vehicle. I’ve been asked to judge at the event too but I’m hoping the sponsor will provide a judge. This will be discussed in detail at Tri-State but if you are not going to Tri-State please let me know. You can still participate.
Don’t let this great opportunity slip by. There will be hundreds of vehicles (some exotic) on display. We can "rub elbows" with them and show what the Corvair “hobby” is all about! SeeMore will be there doing its educational/promotional thing.
If you are interested in the event, please let me know. Email, phone, snail mail, whatever.
See you there!
