Eric Schakel sent me this message last night to invite us to help a military
family out in this trying time. They have confirmed that they will be open
tomorrow (Saturday) all day. Weather will be sunny and in the mid to high
50¹s so please join us in supporting a family that is attempting to live the
American dream and eat some wonderful BBQ.

I¹m planning on meeting up with Eric and Linae around 11:30.

Let Eric know at his email address below if you are planning on dropping by
so they have plenty prepared.

Best,

Rick

Subject: B-Man's BBQ Outing?

Rick,

As discussed, I¹m interested in promoting RMC/PPCC members to swing their
cars by B-Man¹s BBQ in Sedalia this Saturday. Here¹s some suggested text:

Eric Schakel would like to help a local Sedalia family business survive
through the Covid era, and also provide a great Corvair outing opportunity.
B-Man¹s BBQ is a family operation owned by Roxanne and Brian (the ³B²), a
couple of young-ish veterans who moved to Sedalia and expanded their family
food truck barbeque business into a cozy restaurant. Open less than a year
before Covid-19 erupted into an international pandemic, B-Man¹s was thriving
with demand for their excellent pulled pork, chicken, sausage, and beef
brisket BBQ offerings.

The virus surge of the last eight weeks has hit the family business hard,
forcing the owners into part-time jobs, and B-Man¹s BBQ to reduce open days
to Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in an attempt to keep the dream alive.
Eric and Linae invite you to swing by B-Man¹s, where they may be parked out
front in a Yenko Stinger or rusty maroon Corsa around lunchtime. If you¹re
looking for a good Corvair trip, B-Man¹s has a drive-up window, and would be
grateful for your drive-up or takeout business. They have parking, and if a
large bunch of Corvairs (or Corvair people) show up, the elementary school
lot across the west railroad tracks can accommodate.

If this coming Saturday¹s forecast of warm, sunny weather (50s, clear skies)
is compelling, let Eric know (eschakel at centurylink.net ), and he¹ll give
them a heads-up so they¹ll have enough meat prepared they sell nothing but
fresh BBQ. B-Man¹s is conveniently located a block north of Manhart Avenue
(Highway 67), the main drag through Sedalia. It¹s on the Google map, but
very simple: Turn west into Sedalia from Highway 85, slip immediately into
the right turn lane, and turn north just past the railroad track onto Platte
Avenue. In a quarter-mile, Platte merges with N. Plum Avenue to become N.
Peterson Road. Call them at 303 442-1139 if you wish to order ahead. Wear
your mask, stay safely distanced, and tell them Eric and Linae say hello.

Let me know your thoughts on whether this will fly, and I will give Roxanne
a heads-up. I¹m also going to alert Mike Piper. And, if anything goes awry,
Bud¹s Bar is also doing take-out burgers!

Eric
