There's never a dull moment when driving a Corvair Mike? Sounds like there were some anxious moments there but I'm glad to hear that you and Karen are home safe and sound.
In 1974, my 1962 Corvan vapor-locked in the middle of the Eisenhower tunnel. That was before the second (Johnson) bore had been drilled and the tunnel was only a single lane in each direction. Traffic backed up behind me as I stood behind the van trying to cool down the fuel pump. A CDOT truck quickly came up and proceeded to push me through to the tunnel exit. The driver said they knew right away there was a problem when the CO monitors spiked. Cameras confirmed the issue.
