RMC List - Hastings

Chris, and RMC:  The trip to Hastings is on, plan is to meet at Shade’s Classic Corvair shop on Saturday, October 14 between 4:00PM and 5:00PM, for a 5:00 tour of the premises and presentation of RMC’s donation to the Corvair Museum of America fund (see Corvair Museum of America in Hastings, Nebraska <https://www.corvairmuseum.org/>  for an up-to-date explanation!). Following the shop tour, the plan is to head out for a group social dinner at a local eatery, most likely the Blue Fork Restaurant. 

 

You’re on your own for the drive, typically 6-7 hours from the Denver area each way. Don’t forget that Hastings is one hour later for us, in the Central Time Zone. Our anticipated visitor count is 9 to 11 enthusiasts, which unfortunately will not include Linae or me – we’ve been bitten by the Covid bug. But Larry Schubert and Mike Piper have picked up the fan belt and will make the presentation for RMC. It’s a worthwhile trip, the weather looks comfortably neutral, and you’ll be impressed by Shade’s Classic Corvairs and the big plans for the Museum. Who knows? Maybe there will be a Corvair in the showroom with your name on it?

 

Chris Shade has a deal with the Holiday Inn Express manager (Stephanie Hagemeier) for a 10% discount on room rates, if you’re looking for a room. Sunday is looking like a perfect day for a leisurely return on your own.
