John,
Given other scheduling conflicts, aberration in the moon orbit, diminishing frozen residue from the skies, etc., we’re sticking with tomorrow’s event. Might not be many Corvairs at the estate other than the three that live here, but we’re counting on some plucky Corvair folk to assemble and chat! For those who can’t make it, well, we’ll look at another TSTU in approximately 12 months, which is about how long it takes for the road to dry out.

Eric:
This weather is CRAZY! I'm having second thoughts on my "I intend to be there" note of yesterday.
What was supposed to be rain is now "two inches of partly cloudy" with more yet to drop.
Apart from the tenth of a mile of a slippery quagmire that leads to Schakel Acres, I'm wondering about parking and then getting out again. Sure, I have a 4Runner that I could drive, but what's the point of that when it's supposed to be a drive and dine Corvair event?
Perhaps we might consider the following Sunday, May 5th (or another Sunday) as an alternate date?
Thanks so much for being the host of this event.

Hello, Corvair Fans. This is a heads-up and request for RSVPs. First the heads-up: It’s supposed to rain tonight (Friday) through early Sunday morning, and our country estate is 1/10 of a mile from paved road. The last 1/10 has not had fresh aggregate installed for a couple of years, and promises to be a glutinous quagmire of mud on Sunday.
On the other hand, Corvairs are pretty good in slippery stuff, my shop has heat (as does our house, if the weather is worse than anticipated), and we are able to accommodate folks who might show up – we obviously had no alternative plans for Sunday afternoon!
So, be forewarned if your 101 point concours Corvair was going to be your transport! It would get a mud bath on the undercarriage. But if you’re like me, and drive the old stuff like it’s real, or would like to drive your real car to come out, hang around, and eat with a few die-hard loonies, well, we’ll be here. What I would appreciate at this point is an RSVP from those who are going to brave the last 1/10 of a mile so we don’t end up with months of taco, taco, taco for dinner. And please, pass this message on to anyone who might not be on this mailing list.
