RMC List - One week until the Wilshire picnic

Yo, Corvairistas, Linae and I don't have a functional street Corvair to
drive to the picnic. We do, however, have a big old Avalanche 2500 and a
fairly large Charbroil gas grill (I've done 12 burgers and 6-8 weenies at
one time) with a full cylinder of propane. Why don't y'all with Corvairs
drive them to the event, and let us bring the grill. Otherwise, we're going
to have a parking lot full of SUVs and trucks, which is NOT what we like to
see at Corvair picnics, right? Now, if someone wants to bring a backup
grill, that's all fine and dandy, but we don't need ten grills at the park.
Heck, it'll probably rain anyway, rendering fire danger moot.

Bring your Corvairs, we'll bring our grill, the world will be a better place
for it. I even have a charged fire extinguisher handy.

Eric

I can bring a blackstone grill. Can handle about 6 burgers at a time.

BBQ might be a better option for this year. IMO

Folks,

Jeffco may have lifted the ban, but Bear Creek Lake Park is owned and
controlled by Lakewood.
According to their web site the ban is still in effect.

Unless they change by the weekend, we are still limited to propane grills.

I saw on the news they lifted the band last night. You couldn't have
charcoals for grills.

Hello folks,

If I'm thinking correctly, which is never a sure thing, the Picnic is in a
week.

At the last meeting it was brought up that there was a fire ban at Bear
Creek Lake park and so we could not use the charcoal grills.

Can we get an update on that status from whoever has been talking to the
park? We've had some rain.

If we can't use the charcoal grills, what other options do we have? I'm not
in a position where I can bring our grill and it really isn't big enough to
make a solid dent as it is.

Karen suggested maybe we could do the hamburgers and such another time and
pick up cooked meat like BBQ pork, sausage and Brisket somewhere on the way.

Any info and suggestions are appreciated.

Regards,

Mike
