Thanks Dale,
I was in high school when these came out and I do recall seeing quite a few of them around The SAC Hqtrs. parking lot onOffutt AFB in Bellevue, NE.  
Of course, there were a number of 356s, Corvettes and two seat Thunderbirds.
Fun days! 
First automobile  was a 59 Bel Air.
