Hello fellow club members:  Long time RMC and CORSA member Christy Barden celebrates his 90th birthday tomorrow October 18.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY 
Christy lived in Boulder for many years. He is well known for owning a couple of Ultra Vans as well as Corvairs both early and late models. One of his UVs graced the cover of the COMMUNIQUE a few years ago. 
He also hosted what back then was called "picnic and swap meet" because he had a very large back yard and members from both clubs could park there to show off their Corvairs and some brought parts to sell and everyone brought their appetites.  Awards were sometimes given to the best cars there. 
Christy moved back to California after he retired but is still driving the Corvairs. He drove the Ultra Van to the Ohio national convention a couple of years ago. 
I have known Christy since before he moved to Colorado and he is a good friend of mine and probably everyone else in the Corvair world.
