Since the Tune-up was canceled on Sunday, I wanted everyone to know our<br>
final decision on venue for the 2018 Tri-State.<br>
<br>
We have chosen Crested Butte, CO.<br>
<br>
The reasons were many, but mostly we were running into space challenges in<br>
Gunnison and Alamosa. The room rates were, in our opinion, a bit high.<br>
Crested Butte came in with the best rate of $99 a night and have a couple<br>
different options for the get together on Friday and the banquet on<br>
Saturday.<br>
<br>
Crested Butte offers us a unique setting for the 2018 event. Nestled, in a<br>
box canyon about 30 miles north of Gunnison, it's a quaint ski town with<br>
plenty of shops, bars and things for folks to do and see.<br>
<br>
If we set the dates for June 9 & 10, rather than the weekend of the 2nd, the<br>
mountain will be open for summer operations which means the lifts will be<br>
running for those so inclined to ride up the mountain and either hike or<br>
bike back down to the base area. More family friendly, I think.<br>
