He encouraged my racing efforts with the Stinger, and appeared one weekend at Pueblo Motorsports Park with the big motorhome, having come to cheer us on. That same weekend my daughter Amy and a girlfriend, in their early teens, woke dreadfully ill Sunday morning. Rather than have me pack up to take them home, and miss the racing, Harlan ushered the girls into the motor home, fired up the AC, and they slept for hours recovering while the racing went on.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>It’s been nearly two years since I last spoke with Harlan, but even then, it was heartening to see his eyes light up when we were talking about racing and the old Corvair days.
