Welcome! I am excited about the new group. Hope to get some good discussions going over this next few months. In the meantime, I am adding your name to the membership list.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

I have been a member of corsa since the early 70's (on and off). I purchased my Spyder convt. in 69 when I was in the 9th grade. For my 40th birthday and its 30th I restored it to what was going to be a driver but as so often happens it turned into a challenge to see how original it could be. And so it goes that at the Corsa convention in Albuquerque NM, its first show, scored 94.75 points to take second by only a very small amount. Not bad for a beginner. Later it scored 99.5 in the Classic Chevrolet national show in Albuquerque. And won best of class and best of category in the Super Chevy Show in Phoenix, AZ. And I might I say have been treated like a second class citizen by most of the Corvair people that I have come in contact with since. Yes its a trailer queen. But a open trailer I might add. A car should be shown and its nice to see people look at it. Only driven about 200 miles in the last 10 years. I only show it in shows close to home and only 2 or 3 times a year. It almost always wins something and most times I enter with the understanding that whatever my award would be to give it to someone that is trying to achieve a pure stock car (whatever make). Call me a purest or non conformist I don't care. I like cars the way they came from the factory. My answer to the trailer queen remark is that it only takes a salvage yard and a torch to build a modified or street rod, but it takes a lot of time and effort to put a 30 + year old car back to original. I am self employed and have owned an auto repair business for 30 years. I also own about 45 corvairs in various states of condition. My father was the service manager of the local Chevrolet dealership for 25 years ending 1976. I have lots of information about those days as I grew up in a Chevrolet dealership.

I have owned lots of other cars over the years but for some reason there is a soft spot in my heart for Corvairs.

I would be honored to be a part of your new chapter. Please keep me informed. I had almost given up on Corsa.

  thanks
