Sorry, no pictures, but you asked the question and you got an answer for
one who saw one. It makes absolutely no sense to me, either, but I know
what I saw was there on that car. No hallucinations as far as I can tell on
that day.

Well, Rich, if you can find any documentation of this I'd be very
interested
to see it. Until then, I tend to agree with Larry - it doesn't make sense
to cover the condenser on an early model. Still, I'll keep an open mind.
If such a cover really existed it must be rare.

Hi Bill,

I do believe there was a early cardboard box/cover for the early condensor
as I have seen one on a '64 model sometime ago (ratty, but fairly in tact).
I also remember Clark's having a replacement piece for this as well,
announced a few years ago-it could be that I remember him requesting a
piece from owners that he could pattern so he could reproduce it. Yes, both
my manuals do not show the part, but I asked my guru here in WI and he said
that yes, they existed, but never saw directions for install in any of the
guides. Could be a late addition that just never made it to a published
change in the manual with the exception of a note/memo that went to the
plants.

I have a question for the group. There is currently an item on E-Bay
(8052716443) showing a cardboard cover for the condensor of a 1964 A/C
system. I am familar with the cardboard cover for the 1965, but not for
the
1964 (or earlier?) It does not appear in either the 1964 Assembly Manual
or
the Dealer A/C Install manual. Has anybody seen a cardboard cover (box)
for
an early condensor before? Does anybody have detailed drawings or pictures

showing how it was installed?

I believe I also saw something about this "early A/C" Cardboard box in
Clark's recent suppliment (which I cannot find right now, for some
mysterious reason).

I am happily awaiting your responses.
