[SCG] Re: SCG-list Digest, Vol 16, Issue 2

Dave, thanks for the info. I will add it to the list of Canadian coils found
to date (most not on their original engines).

As Shaun said, the date code on your coil indicates November (L) 15 (15),
1963 (3). I agree that we would expect a somewhat later date code on the
coil that was original to your engine. Something beginning with 4A or 4B,
perhaps.

So for now, I'll keep looking and hope to find a 1115172 Canadian coil. I do
believe that they were produced for Canadian Spyders, since I am pretty
certain that 1115135 was not a higher-output coil in Canada. I think the
main problem, again, is the very small numbers produced original--less than
1000.

It would be great for anyone who knows of a Canadian Spyder engine, whether
it's in the original car or not, to take a look at see what the part number
is on the coil (if it has an aluminum case).

Hi Dave, my car was built on Feb.20/'64 and yours is 83 cars (all styles)
later in the serial, so late Feb. production is likely. The production date
is on the body plate.
My coil is dated early January 64. I'd expect your to be similarly dated,
not the Nov.15/'63 date on it. That being said, GM may have had parts lying
about for some time before using them but I think the coil issue is still
unresolved.

yea, Vairily ... Shaun
