[SCG] LM Seat Belt Date Codes & Model #'s

Yes--had several productive conversations with CRG when I was doing the '65-7 Fisher Body code research. They helped clarify several important and rare '67 codes and we even told them about one they had never seen (rear center seat belt, non-deluxe).

“The date coding used the following format: A one- or two-digit number indicating the production week, a single letter to indicate which supplier plant (or possibly production line) produced the part, and a two-digit calendar year number. 50-A-68 decodes as manufactured the 50th week of 1968, by Irvin Industries. The belts of the same model number in a car are often dated the same, e.g. the front lap belts (model 2904) in a 69 are likely to have the same date. All standard belts had the letter A for the plant code (except for a few 68 LOS cars which had E & F coded standard belts, perhaps due to a supply issue) and deluxe Camaro belts had the letters C, E, & F.”

I don’t know if this helps or not.  However, I am impressed with the research of the Camaro group.  They are doing what I wish the SCG would do.

Body Build date is 05C, 3rd week of May.  I am original owner.  Have dealer retail order dated 4/26/66 and Dealer Vehicle Invoice dated 5/26/66.  Took possession of the car on 5/26/66.
 
Do you know what the "20." prefix represents?  I replaced my driver's side seat belt in 1974 but still have the original belt.  It is date coded "19.2B66".  The GM replacement belts are date coded 26.2D66.  All of the original belts except for the driver's are date coded "20.5B66.

Erich, when was your car produced (Fisher Body build date on top left of body tag)? I think 5B66 = second week of May 1966. The Fisher date should tell us whether your car was built after that as confirmation.

Does anyone have any information on decoding LM seat belt date codes and model numbers?  I have Model #300 seat belts in the front and Model # 301 seat belts in the rear.  Date Codes are 20.5B66.  Manufacturer is Robbins.
