Sarah,
Yes, I know very well that the Concours committee is the sole originator of
concours rules changes, because I not only wrote them that way, I insisted
upon it. That was to keep the Board from meddling in affairs about which
they often times didn't have a clue. But there is nothing to prevent the
Board from requesting that the Concours committee address a given (or
perceived) problem, and to have that solution or answer presented to them
within a given time frame. That would still allow my request to be doable in
the time frame in which I presented in my post.
But you have just presented the reason for my confusion in the last few
posts. The Board apparently has acted upon changes that address my concerns,
and the new rules have apparently just been posted on the CORSA website.
Which is why I was originally under the impression that the problem had not
been addressed. This obsoletes my first post, for which I want to thank Jim
Diell (I do believe he still is the Concours chairman, am I right?) for
attending to my concerns and taking my input to heart. So no need to request
of the Board any further action on this subject. Thank you very much, Sarah.
BTW, it's why I addressed the original post to him as well as the Board.
TO JIM DIELL'S ATTENTION:
But I do have one more item that concerns a different aspect of Concours
rules. I can see via hindsight, that I left out one very good (IMHO) idea.
This is something to which I will address directly to Jim at this time, and
it may help keep blunders like what made my original issue crop up from ever
happening again. That idea is this: Add to the Concours Rules that "ALL past
National Concours Chairmen shall be made a permanent part of any present and
future Concours committees, with the title of Concours Committee Member
Emeritus, and having the full rights and privileges of a regular Concours
committee member. " This is to allow us to keep all the knowledge, wisdom,
and experience we have developed in the past, instead of wasting such
valuable talent by discarding them like a used dishrag, as is the result of
the present MO.

Mark,
You wrote: "I would like to know, when will this insult ever be corrected?
And will we ever get a justly deserved and long overdue apology? I am
therefore asking that the CORSA board to address this issue at their
convention meeting, and present their answer to the membership at the annual
meeting".
About 6 weeks ago the BoD voted on some changes for Concours. Those in
charge were hoping the new rules could be used at Tacoma. Due the time
restraints this will not take place until next year.
You know as well as the rest of us that this the Concours Committee item and
not that of the BoD. The committee will make the suggestions and pass it
along to the BoD for discussion. To date we have not seen this request.
So, I do not think we a a BoD will be able to make any announcement st the
General Meeting if we have not heard from the Concours Committee.
