[SCG] oil filter

>From what I was told by a friend that was a service writer for a large Chevrolet dealership, all engines came with the black oil filters, and the black filters were not available after 1960 for replacement stock.  The reasoning behind the black filter coming with the car, was so the dealership would know if the oil was changed.  If it had more than 3000 miles on the engine, and a black filter, they knew that it hadn't.  He said that sometime in early 1961, the black filters weren't available to the parts department, and that they were replaced by another color.  He didn't remember the color, but looking at my oil filter collection, I believe that it was a blue filter.
