One for the Concours guys. I am selling a set of five tires for one of our local club members. These are the 1 inch-wide-whitewall tires, sold by Coker tire, in the 6.50-13s Corvair size tires. These are 4-ply polyester tires and are concours correct for many years/models of Corvairs. (through 1965) They are in like-new condition. They have been mounted on wheels and they have – maybe – 200 miles (max) on them. (One, the spare, has never touched the ground, still has a sticker) They have been kept in an enclosed garage. The catch? They are at least 16-17 years old. They show absolutely no wear – the proverbial penny drops fully into the thread. They show no age degradation at all, because of where and how they have been stored. I drove them about 15 miles a couple of weeks ago and they drive perfectly. They were removed because the car’s owner is now going to be driving the car regularly, instead of just showing the car. A new set of 185/80-13 Maxxis whitewall radials has been installed. These Coker tires should go to a person who wants to show their car, with minimal driving. Although they are perfectly safe for use, they were bought for show use, and look stock. I am posting a few pictures, including the date codes and photos of the sidewalls. Please E-mail me direct for more information or a few more photos. These tires are currently $175 each from Coker (per their website). If you won’t be driving a few thousand miles per year, these are probably perfect for your show car.
