a/c jobs the 65/66 95/110 engines have the air hose on the driver

factory a/c 67 models as my memory is not clear on which side they were in that
year.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Greg,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>If what you say is correct, then why do the
factory instructions for installing A/C into a 1966 car indicate the fresh air
hose on the RIGHT side of the car? This is true for both the Factory
installations (per 1966 Assembly manual - page C64) AND for dealer
installations (per Dealer A/C installation manual -page 103) ??</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I, too, have wondered about the different
shrouds. I know the fresh air outlet was located on the LEFT for the LM
turbo engines, and for some LM A/C engines, but not sure for which dates
and/or places of manufacture.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>For that matter, since most LM cars have the
vacuum balance tube bent to allow the placement of the fresh air hose on
either side, I have wondered why GM went to the bother of making two different
top shrouds; why not just make them all with left hand hose outlets?
Seems like it would have saved them money.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I am copying this to the Stock Corvair Group for
further commentary.</FONT></DIV>
